Dried bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina). Really bitter, and it does not apologise for it. Used in bitter leaf soup (ofe onugbu), ndole and egusi soup, and steeped as a tea. Dried leaf swells a lot when cooked.

How to use Bitter Leaf

No washing is needed. Simmer the leaf in water and taste as you go. The longer it simmers, the less bitter it becomes, so you set the bitterness by time alone.
