MP Poundo Iyan is a convenient instant mix for preparing the smooth and stretchy swallow commonly known as Pounded Yam or Iyan. It provides a quick alternative to the traditional process of boiling and pounding fresh yam.

Once prepared, it has a smooth, firm and elastic consistency that pairs well with popular West African soups and stews such as Egusi Soup, Ogbono Soup, Okra Soup, Efo Riro, Vegetable Soup and other traditional dishes.

Preparation

1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
2. Reduce the heat and gradually add MP Poundo Iyan while stirring continuously.
3. Stir firmly to prevent lumps from forming.
4. Continue mixing until a smooth, stretchy and firm consistency is achieved.
5. Adjust with a small amount of hot water or additional mix if necessary.
6. Serve hot with your preferred African soup or stew.
